get ready to be fired-up.

You rely on SERIOUS machinery, tools & hardware to create your art. Honestly, isn’t the (dangerous, igniting, blazing) gear why you started making metal art in the first place?

what’s your angle?

The glory of metal art goes to the welder, but the angle grinder is another tool that puts in the blood, sweat and tears (literally). In this series, What’s Your Angle?, we will cut into grinders through product reviews as well as pro-tips from artists, craftspeople and manufacturers. We have partnered with Benchmark Abrasives to showcase and review their products old and new. We will discuss questions like: should I go cordless? How can you tell it is a quality grinder? What do I look for in a disk? Stay tuned…

Let’s start at the beginning….if you are just getting started in metal art, this is a must have tool. An angle grinder is a multi-use metalworking tool that can cut, grind, polish, remove access material, sand and more. Its all in the blades and most metal artists keep a variety ready to change out as needed.

PRO TIP: Donald Longley @hercworx likes to keep at least three grinders loaded with the inserts that he uses (Benchmark Abrasives cutoff & grinder wheels) so he does not Have to stop to change them out.
